Patio umbrellas are great to use in the daytime as a way to keep the sun off you and help keep you a little cooler. However, by using patio umbrella lights you also can turn your umbrella into a great place to gather once the sun goes down as well.
If you don’t want to have to bother with stringing lights yourself, you can look for an umbrella with them already built in. These can be nice because you won’t find yourself having to search for the right lights and then install them yourself. You can also just plug the lights in as soon as you get home and you’ll be ready to go. A final advantage to having built in lights is that you can test them out before leaving the store.
However, there are some disadvantages to this setup as well. One is that you can’t customize the type of lighting in the umbrella. You may be able to special order specific lights with your patio umbrella, but this can take weeks to be delivered.
For those who have a specific look in mind, you may want to consider pole mounted or string lighting. Pole mounted lights attach directly to the umbrella pole by use of clamps. Typically, these lights will be the LED variety which provide clean, even lighting. If you need to redirect the lights, it is as easy as swiveling them around. Consumers can even find solar panels which will attach to the top of the umbrella and provide power to pole mounted lights.
String lights actually go under the umbrella and are hung by using the umbrella’s arms. The nice thing about these patio umbrella lights is that they come in a wide array of colors and styles to match any outdoor decor. They can add either an exotic or romantic look to your patio and backyard. Adding string lights to your patio umbrella is a simple procedure. Simply clip the lights to the arms and spread them out evenly. Then just plug the lights in and you will be ready to have an evening out.
