Indoor gardening, as the ideal way to decorate your house, is convenient for those who have limited space, especially living in an apartment. There are a variety of plants that can be used indoors to beautify the house's interiors. They are easy to maintain when given the right care and attention.
When it comes to an indoor garden design, all the possible points before planning to begin it should be taken into consideration. First and foremost, deciding which plants to grow in your indoor garden is one of the most challenging steps, particular in the season. The outdoor temperature is very cold which is not favorable for plant growth in winter. At this point in the season, I recommend buying some herbs and vegetables that perform well in an indoor garden are tomato, bean, arugula, leaf lettuce, basil, etc.
Secondly, you need to pick a good location. Select the right location according to the lighting requirements for plants, which differ from case to case. Such examples might be given easily. Most of herbs and green vegetables require sunlight for healthy growing. The ideal location is near a south or east facing window for receiving maximum filtered light. On the contrary, if plants need shade, you'd better put them under the window sill, where they are kept from the sun. Moreover, keep windows open for ventilation, or to use an oscillating fan set on low or medium.
Finally, potting soil and watering are indispensible part. Do not use soil that's intended for regular outdoor garden use, as it may contain insects or other creepy-crawlies. To add humus forming soil components reduces the need for fertilizers. As to watering, the fact that indoors plants does not mean that they do not require regular watering. It is wise to keep a watch over the amount of water used for irrigation. Meanwhile, you have to ensure that the water that seeps out gets properly drained.
Overall, certainly, these are just the basics, of course. Indoor gardening is well worth the effort, if you ask me. You will be surprised with the growth of healthy plants right in your indoor garden. In a word, it's not only a fun hobby, but a rewarding hobby.
